Urology

Kidney stones, prostate, bladder and male health with endoscopic procedures.

Kidney stones are among the most painful conditions a person can experience, and they are common in the hot, dry climate of South Telangana. Aravinda Hospitals & Advanced Medical Services is building a urology hospital near Mahabubnagar on the NH44 corridor so that stones, prostate problems, and other urinary conditions can be treated close to home.

Our Urology department is being developed alongside Nephrology & Dialysis to offer kidney care, dialysis, and advanced urological procedures, including laser surgeries, with medical and surgical expertise working together.

Urological care on the NH44 corridor

Urology deals with the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, and male reproductive organs. Many conditions can now be treated through the natural passages with endoscopes, avoiding open surgery. Our urologists are planned to offer this minimally invasive approach wherever it is suitable.

Conditions we treat

  • Kidney, ureteric, and bladder stones
  • Enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia)
  • Urinary tract infections and recurrent infections
  • Blood in the urine
  • Urinary incontinence and overactive bladder
  • Prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers, with oncology
  • Male infertility and erectile dysfunction
  • Congenital urinary problems in children, with paediatrics

Procedures & services

  • Endoscopic stone removal (ureteroscopy, PCNL)
  • Laser treatment of stones and prostate
  • Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP)
  • Cystoscopy and bladder procedures
  • Circumcision and hydrocele surgery
  • Urinary catheter and stent management
  • Dialysis access surgery, with nephrology
  • Urodynamic assessment

These lists are educational. Your urologist will advise the treatment that suits your condition.

Technology & facilities for urological care

Aravinda Hospitals is being equipped with ultrasound with colour Doppler, digital X-ray, and CT scan, which together allow stones, obstruction, and prostate enlargement to be assessed quickly. Endoscopy systems support minimally invasive procedures on the urinary tract.

Surgery will take place in our modular operation theatre complex, supported by CSSD and intensive care units where needed. Dialysis units and comprehensive laboratory services on the same campus mean patients with combined kidney and urinary problems can be managed under one roof. A 24×7 advanced emergency department receives acute cases at any hour.

Our consultants

Consultants are being appointed — details will be published as the team joins. Our urology consultants will work with nephrologists, oncologists, and anaesthesiologists to plan each patient's care. Visit our doctors for updates.

Frequently asked questions

Can kidney stones pass on their own?

Small stones often pass with fluids and medicines. Larger or obstructing stones usually need a procedure, which your urologist will explain.

What is laser stone surgery?

A thin endoscope is passed through the urinary tract and a laser fibre breaks the stone into fragments that can be removed or passed, without any external cut.

Is prostate enlargement the same as prostate cancer?

No. Benign enlargement is very common in older men and is not cancer, though both can cause similar urinary symptoms. Tests can tell them apart.

How can I prevent kidney stones?

Drinking enough water, reducing salt, and following dietary advice from your doctor can reduce the risk of recurrence.
