A 24×7 emergency department on NH44
The emergency department at Aravinda Hospitals will operate round the clock, every day of the year. It is being designed as an advanced emergency department with triage at the entrance, resuscitation bays, observation beds, and direct access to imaging, the laboratory, the operation theatre complex, and the ICUs.
Its position on NH44 is deliberate. National Highway 44 carries heavy passenger and freight traffic, and road accidents, cardiac events, and strokes on or near the highway need a hospital that is easy for ambulances to reach. Aravinda Hospitals is being planned with an ambulance bay and clear access routes so that patients can be brought in quickly and moved without delay.
Every arriving patient will be assessed by triage so that the most critical are seen first, and families will be kept informed from the moment they arrive.
A dedicated trauma care unit and trauma stabilisation unit
Trauma is treated differently from other emergencies. Aravinda Hospitals will have a dedicated trauma care unit with a trauma stabilisation unit, where patients with injuries from road accidents, falls, industrial incidents, and burns are stabilised before definitive treatment.
The trauma team will work alongside orthopaedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, and anaesthesiology, with the modular operation theatre complex and CT imaging within the same building. Blood storage and transfusion services support the unit around the clock.
Because the intensive care units are next to the emergency department, a patient who needs ventilatory or organ support after stabilisation can be admitted immediately.
The Golden Hour and why location matters
In serious injury, heart attack, and stroke, the first hour after the event—the Golden Hour—is when treatment has the greatest influence on survival and recovery. A hospital that is reachable by road, receives the patient without waiting, and has imaging and surgical capability on site can make the difference.
Aravinda Hospitals is being built with that in mind. Direct NH44 connectivity, excellent ambulance connectivity, and an integrated emergency, trauma, imaging, surgical, and critical-care pathway are planned so that patients from Mahabubnagar, surrounding mandals, and travellers on the highway can receive care in time.
