Technology & facilities for digestive care
Aravinda Hospitals is being equipped with endoscopy systems and dedicated endoscopy and daycare facilities, allowing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to be completed comfortably with same-day discharge where appropriate. Ultrasound with colour Doppler, CT scan, and MRI support imaging of the liver, pancreas, and bowel.
Minimal access surgery will be performed in our modular operation theatre complex, supported by CSSD, blood storage and transfusion services, and intensive care units for patients recovering from major operations. Comprehensive laboratory services provide liver function, stool, and histopathology testing on site.

Dr. Ramakrishna Rao Boddu, MRCS (Edinburgh), will serve as Senior Consultant – Gastroenterology, GI & Minimal Access Surgery. An alumnus of Osmania Medical College with over 25 years of surgical experience, including more than two decades in the United Kingdom, his expertise covers laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, colorectal cancer, proctology, inflammatory bowel disease, hernia surgery, and pelvic floor disorders. Is endoscopy painful?
Endoscopy is usually done with sedation or throat spray and is well tolerated. Most patients go home the same day.
When should I have a colonoscopy?
Blood in the stool, a change in bowel habit, unexplained weight loss, or a family history of bowel cancer are common reasons. Your consultant will advise.
Can piles be treated without surgery?
Many cases improve with diet and medicines. Persistent or severe piles may need a procedure, which your surgeon will discuss.
What is minimal access surgery?
It refers to keyhole techniques using small incisions and a camera, which usually mean less pain and a faster recovery than open surgery.
